NOTICE OF PROPOSALS
THE YORK PARKING, STOPPING AND WAITING (AMENDMENT) (NO 14/70)
TRAFFIC ORDER 2026
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council, in exercise of powers under Sections 1, 2, 4, 32, 35, 45, 46, 53 and Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 ("the Act") and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Schedule 9 of the Act, proposes to make an Order which will have the effect of:
1. Introducing ‘No Waiting at any time’ restrictions in Fulford, as follows:
(a) Naburn Lane, on its:
(i) south east side, between a point 225 metres south west from the projected south western property boundary line of No. 32 Naburn Lane and a point 20 metres north east from the projected north eastern kerbline of Fulford Court,
(ii) north west side, between the projected south western property boundary line of No. 32 Naburn Lane and a point 225 metres south west,
(iii) north west side, between the projected north eastern property boundary line of No. 60 Naburn Lane and a point 20 metres north east from the projected north eastern kerbline of Fulford Court.
(b) St Nicholas Avenue, on both sides, including the central island and roundabout at the south west end of St Nicholas Avenue, between the roundabout controlled junction with the A19 Selby Road and the vehicle access/exit roads for York Designer Outlet car parks.
2. Introducing ‘No Waiting at any time’ restrictions in North Lane, Haxby, on its north side, between the projected eastern property boundary line of No. 21 North Lane and the projected western property boundary line of No. 34 Hawthorn Avenue.
3. Introducing a Loading Bay on Hebden Rise, York, on its east side, between points 16.6 metres and 33.6 metres north from the projected northern kerbline of York Road, Acomb, thereby removing the existing ‘No Waiting at any time’ restrictions from within the said length.
4. Introducing a Parking Places, providing a limited parking period of 120 minutes with 60 minutes ‘No Return’ period, in Church Street, Dunnington, on its south west side between points 14 metres and 34 metres north west from the projected north western kerbline of York Street.
A copy of the draft Order, Statement of Reasons for making it and relevant maps can be inspected at the Reception, West Offices, Station Rise, York, during normal business hours. Objections or other representations specifying reasons for the objection or representation should be sent to me in writing to arrive no later than 22nd May 2026.
